Create your land

Mineplay uses Lands to claim territory and manage who can use it. A claim covers a 16 × 16 block chunk through the world’s height. Claiming is enabled in the Overworld and Nether, but not the End.

  1. Find an unclaimed place for your base. Use /lands map to check nearby claims and /lands view to show their borders.
  2. Stand in the chunk you want as your first claim and run /lands create <name>. Replace <name> with a name between 5 and 24 characters, without spaces.
  3. Open /lands to manage your land. Mineplay requires you to create a named land before claiming more chunks.

Add more claims

Commands use your selected edit land. If you belong to more than one, run /lands edit <land> first. Standing inside a different land does not automatically select it.

Stand in an available chunk next to your existing claim and use /lands claim. Check the price and your remaining land capacity before confirming. The standard allowance permits one connected land, so you cannot create a separate outpost.

Claims use a three-chunk separation rule around neighbouring lands unless your role in the neighbouring land allows border claiming.

Additional claim cost
The base price is $100, with a configured 10% increase as claims grow, capped at $300 per chunk. The standard allowance includes no free additional chunks.
Unclaiming
Use /lands unclaim to release a claim. The configured refund is 50% of the paid claim cost. Releasing a claim removes its protection.

Invite friends and choose their roles

Open your land in /lands, go to its members page and choose the trust or invite option. Invitations are enabled on Mineplay, so the other player must accept before joining.

Use the members and roles menus to decide who can build, open containers, manage claims or withdraw money. Check a role before assigning it. A server rank grants access to commands; your role in the land still controls what you can do there.

Land owners can also join other lands. Temporary membership can last up to 30 days; when it expires, the player is automatically untrusted. Temporary members do not pay that area’s taxes and cannot claim or unclaim unless they also hold permanent membership in another area.

Give different areas different permissions

Sub-areas let you divide an existing claim into smaller spaces, such as houses, farms or shared storage, with their own members and roles. The standard limit is 20 sub-areas per land and 20 roles per area.

Open the Areas section of your land menu to review area boundaries, members and settings. Areas can be block-sized spaces, so their height matters as well as their corners.

Trust a player in the specific area if that is all they should use. Review the area’s roles, membership and taxes before inviting someone or setting up a rental.

Your standard land allowances

You can own one land and be trusted in one other land. Your land starts with space for 100 chunks, with five more chunks of capacity for each trusted member. The chunks you actually claim still cost money and require upkeep.

There is no separate personal cap on the total chunks you claim, but each land’s size limit still applies. Extra capacity does not allow disconnected outposts: your land must remain one connected part.

These are the standard allowances. Open /lands to check your current totals, including any individual or level adjustments. Playtime does not automatically increase these limits.

Keep money in the land bank

Each land has a bank. Open its bank page from /lands to see the balance and deposit game currency. Claim costs and other land actions use this bank. Personal-balance fallback is enabled when it cannot cover a charge.

Members need the appropriate land role to withdraw money. Check who has that permission before using the bank for shared funds.

Keep enough in the bank for the next upkeep collection as well as any expansion you plan. The land inbox helps you review money changes.

Pay upkeep to keep your claims

Upkeep is collected every seven days at 23:00 server time. It is a shared collection schedule, not seven days after each chunk was claimed. Check your land menu for the next payment time and amount.

The base charge is $3 per claimed chunk each collection, with no flat fee. For example, 10 chunks have a base upkeep of $30. A land-level adjustment may change the total shown in game. New lands are exempt until they are two days old.

If the available funds cannot cover upkeep, the newest claims that cannot be paid for are unclaimed. This can happen again at later collections. Buildings are not a substitute for claim protection, so top up the bank before payment is due.

Check taxes before accepting an invite

Taxes are payments from trusted members to their land or area. They are separate from the upkeep the land pays to keep its claims. A land can set an area’s tax from $0 to $500 per collection; being trusted in several areas can mean more than one charge.

Taxes use the same seven-day collection schedule. Check the amount in the menu before accepting an invitation. If you cannot pay, Mineplay removes your membership from the affected area.

Players with the appropriate land role can set taxes in the menu. A tax change must respect the two-day lead time before the next collection.

Land spawn and travel costs

A land spawn is set when the land is created. Changing it costs $150. Trusted members do not pay the land-spawn visit fee; untrusted visitors pay $150, which goes to the land, when their visit is allowed.

Teleports normally have a three-second wait. Chunk-list teleports are free with a three-minute cooldown. New players have a teleport-cost exemption for one hour after their first join.

Renting an area

Renting and selling areas are enabled. The standard allowance lets you rent one area across all lands. Read the offer’s price, duration and permissions before accepting.

Rental payments go to the owner’s personal account, so they do not automatically top up the land bank for upkeep.

If you stop playing

Inactive ownership can be transferred to an eligible member, starting with the highest role. If nobody can take over, the land can be deleted. The time allowed depends on your total server playtime.

More help

Use /lands help for commands supported by the installed plugin. The /lands menu is also the best place to check your current land, permissions, balances and upcoming bills. Java and Bedrock players use the same land system; Bedrock menus may use a different layout.
